OPTION C: One-day Workshop August 23, 2005
- 8:30-10:00 – Integrating Technology, Engaging Learners, Improving Performance: Meeting the Mandates of No Child Left Behind
Focuses on instructional practice and the use of technology as a tool to actively engage students in the learning process and to impact student learning.
Focuses on using technology to deliver content with effective instructional practice to teach social studies. Focus will also be on integrating standards, instruction, and assessment as well as technology.
- 1:00 – 2:00 Multimedia and Instruction in the Language Arts Classroom
Focuses on using technology to deliver content with effective instructional practice to teach language arts content. Focus will also be on integrating standards, instruction, and assessment as well as technology.
- 2:00 – 3:00 Multimedia and Instruction in the Elementary and Intermediate Classroom
Focuses on using technology to deliver standards based content with effective instructional practice. The technology used includes audio/video capture, data/video projection, power point, the Internet, CD-ROM, and a remote mouse.
- 3:00 – 4:00 The Case of the Unconscious Science Teacher: Multimedia and Instruction in the Science Classroom
Focuses on using technology to deliver content with effective instructional practice to teach science. Focus will also be on integrating standards, instruction, and assessment as well as technology.
- Includes lunch -- select turkey, ham, or vegetarian when you register.

GRADUATE CREDIT: One graduate credit will be available through Portland State University for an additional $47.00.
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS: Substitutions are welcome at any time if space is available. Otherwise, registration cancellations must be made in writing and postmarked or faxed by July 1, 2005. Cancellations will result in a full refund less a $20 processing fee. No phone cancellations will be accepted. No refunds for cancellations postmarked after July 1, 2005. Refunds will be processed after the technology workshop.

Wayne Free Mr. Free is an award-winning teacher with over 30 years of experience in education. He is currently the Director of Instructional Advocacy with the Louisiana Association of Education. He has presented over 500 professional development sessions across the country.
His presentations include effective instructional practice and ways technology can impact student performance. He will demonstrate practical classroom application by demonstrating how he actively engages his students.
The tools of techonology that he uses include video, computers, the Internet, data-video projection, a remote mouse, and various software applications. |
